Description

An image of visitors surrounding the Dr. Elwood Mead dedication plaque at Lakeview Point, with parked cars nearby. Since he was the commissioner for the Bureau of Reclamation at the time when the lake was created, Dr. Mead was the inspiration behind Lake Mead's official name. The original home of the plaque, the viewing point provides visitors with a unique sight of the lake from the reservoir's outskirts.
