    My Dear Friend:
    line
    4
After so long a time I improve
    line
    5
    the opportunity of writing to
    line
    6
you. I have thought of you so
    line
    7
    often since our sad parting,
    line
    8
and have been going to write
    line
    9
to you every day but have kept
    line
    10
    putting it off.
    line
    11
I arrived home safe the Same
    line
    12
    day after school closed We

and I have also since I arrived
    line
    3
home. Fred has gone off to work.

    4
Gomer is at work in the harness
    line
    5
    shop and Mary working at
    line
    6
home. So you see our family
    line
    7
    is broken up and pretty
    line
    8
    well scattered. I have not
    line
    9

    heard from Annie yet but
    line 10
am looking for a letter soon.

    Woodbury were married in
    line 13
St. Geo. on the last of May I
    line 14
    have not heard whether they
    line 15
are going to have a reception and
    line 16
    party or not. Vivian's mama
    line 17
has a very young baby Alma
    line 18
and Pearl are both deeply in
    line 19
    Page 3
love. They both inquired of you.
    line 1
Well dear Mary you have in
    line 2
    your trouble had my most
    line 3
    sincere sympathy and best

wishes. I hope you are feeling
    line 5
    better by this time.
    line 6
    Grandma has been quite
    line 7
ill since I came home. I am
    line 8
staying with her as she is
    line 9
along and not able to do
    line 10
    her own work.
    line 11
It really is quite cold here.
    line 12
    Lastnight we had to call
    line 13
    into use the heating stove.
    line 14
    Nearly all the garden plants
    line 15
are frost bitten. We had a

    line
    17
    which seemed to make it

    much colder.

I had a letter from Elsie this
    line
    2
morning. She is still in Provo
    line
    3
and seems to be enjoying her
    line
    4
    self immensely. I have just
    line
    5
written to her and Miss Stimpson
    line
    6
I may go back to school next
    line
    7
    winter Have you decided to
    line
    8
teach yet? Well Mary I must
    line
    9
close for this time but hope to
    line
    10
hear from you soon and often.
