eaaE water mains from the existing reservoir feed the distribution system at the center and northerly portions of the oitya The railroad has developed suffioient water for the needs of the eityt but to furnish adequate pressures for domestic service 8 and for fire protection to the rapidly expanding southerly and easterly portions of the city it is necessary to provide a new water main feeding the southerly portion of the distribution system. Zt is not praotioal to extend this new main from the existing reservoir, and to accomplish the purpose it is proposed to oonstruot a new settling basin and reservoir, diverting water from several of the well* thereto, constructing booster pumps at the reservoir, and constructing 10,480 ft. of 84" water main from the reservoir to a connection with the present distribution system at its southerly extremity, all in location as indicated upon the attached, print. The proposed projeot is essential to protect the wartime demands of this important defease community, and would not be neoessary in normal times.
