    Las Yegas - May 34, 1944 Mr. 1, tf. Jeffers? Assume you have received copy of a latter from William Barks of the Clark County Humane Society under date of May 19th regarding a hasard which he felt existed at the oil sump at the railroad yards in has Yagas. I conferred with Supt. Fish and Asst. Supt. Smith and am pleased to advise that the condition has now been corrected fey repairing the fence and installing a fine mesh around the outside to keep children and animals out. Mr, Burke, whom I have never seen or do not personally know, made many mis-statements in his letter to you. the large sump he describes la about 30 *X 80* the greatest depth not over 4 ft, and located |ust Berth of Spur Track into rip track yards. Have never heard of or no report ever hccught to me of children feeing caught in the stamp which has been in use ever since the use of fuel oil on the railroads.
