% Los Angeles - April 16, 1953 36-15 Mr. Wm. Reinhardt: cc: Mr. L.R. Maag - LVegas Referring to Mr. Maag's letter to you of April l4th, his file W-2 5 -2 . I note initially that Mr. Pong states he is in no hurry for water service and will wait until Mr. Allen returns to Las Vegas the end of the month. I also note Mr. Allen suggests we should advise Mr. Pong he can have a 3/4- inch tap and 50 ft. of service for $5.00 or a 1 -inch tap and 50 ft. of service for $20.00. So far, Mr. Allen seems to be properly Interpreting our rules and regulations, especially Rule 8A, but he does not go far enough. As I understand the picture, Mr. Pong's service extension would be in excess of 50 ft. and Rule §A Subdivision (d) says that where service extension "shall exceed 50 feet in length" (the applicant shall be charged the) "actual cost of labor and material, plus 10$." day the logical solution would be to determine the factual situation as to whether the four-inch line should be constructed from Stewart Ave. to Ogden Street in the alley between 13th and l4th streets or a new line down 13th street between Stewart and Ogden. In view of the fact that the nap attached to Mr. Maag's letter Indicates there is a service line coming south from Stewart, serving four lots and presumably house connections are made therefrom, it might be a simple matter to run a 4-inch line up the alley and serve both tiers of lots. would be of help to me and I will endeavor to discuss this matter with Mr. Allen and Mr. Maag when I am in Las Vegas the 27th and 28th or sometime when I am there the end of the month and Mr. Allen will be there. I think in line with our conversation the other If you can develop any engineering information, it
