    167 1 MR. BEHNETTs Mr. Comalssioner, in view of the testimony 2 * of Hr. Shamberger and Mr. Jameson that there Is a very definite 3 possibility and probability that the installation of pumps on 4 one to three veils of the Company vould increase the water 5 supply sufficiently to take care of the peak shortage periods, 6 Mr. Reinhardt has stated— has authorized me to state*— and he 7 will concur in this in the record, that the Water Company is 8 willing, as soon as pumps oan be procured, to install pumps on 9 Wells 9, 10 or 11, or, if necessary, all three, under the super- 10 vision of the State Engineer and the City Engineer, and with 11 their cooperation, and make vhat might be called a Progress 12 Report of the increased production, and what I might call the 13 net increase production, and the effect of it on adjacent veils, 14 that report to be dependent on the ability to get pumps by the 15 1st of February. Meanwhile, the case can be held open because 16 we have not presented our ease; and by that time, if the report 17 is not satisfactory to the Commission and to the City, the ease 18 will be opened in plenty of time to have the Commission issue 19 an Order with respect to the 1951 summer season. 20 MR. CAHHONi X have authority to consent to all of that 21 except that the report should be in by the 1st of January. That 22 is the extent of my authorization at this time. 23 MR. BENNETT* We had that in our agreement but 24 our engineer states there might be some difficulty in getting 25 a pump— possibly thirty or sixty days. We have a situation in 26 Korea, and that is why we added a month to it. We oan make it
