SERVICE & MATERIAL WARRANTS TAXI APPLICATIONS EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 644 Assessment District No. 100-25 LIQUOR APPLICATION Golden Slot Bar ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager, Assistant City Manager and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of Special Meeting. s/_____C. Rounthwaite_____ Las Vegas, Nevada May 11, 1955 A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 11th day of May, 1955 was called to order at the hour of 8:25 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Harris P. Sharp Commissioner Reed Whipple City Manager George H. Rounthwaite Assistant City Manager Robert W. Notti City Engineer George E. Wade Planning Director Franklin Bills City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Clerk Shirley Ballinger At this time the service and material warrants for payment to the members of the election boards, guards of the precincts and precinct polling locations were presented to the Board for their consideration. Commissioner Bunker moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2372 and 3054 and 3056 in the total amount of $6,192.00 be approved and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Manager George H. Rounthwaite recommended that the application of Western Cab Company for two additional taxicabs for the second quarter of 1955 and two cab stands located on the southeast comer of Jackson and E Streets (El Morocco Club) and 900 W. Bonanza (Moulin Rouge Hotel). Commissioner Bunker moved the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and the Western Enterprises Inc. dba Western Cab Company be granted license for two additional taxicabs and two cab stands at the southeast comer of Jackson and E Streets (El Morocco Club) and 900 W. Bonanza (Moulin Rouge). Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Attorney Howard W. Cannon requested that the Commission adopt an emergency ordinance to correct the amended Assessment Roll No. 33-1955 on Assessment District No. 100-25. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp introduced and moved the adoption of the following ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE CONCERNING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-25; CORRECTING IN CERTAIN PARTICULARS THE CONFIRMED AMENDED ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR SAID DISTRICT; RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND CONFIRMING ACTION TAKEN HERETOFORE IN THE PROCEEDINGS FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-25; PRESCRIBING DETAILS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the application of George Tsouras for transfer of the tavern liquor license of the Katydid Bar, located at 113 North 1st Street, said license issued to George Norris, to the Golden Slot Bar at 22 Fremont, was considered by the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved this transfer of the tavern liquor license from George Norris dba Katydid Bar to George Tsouras dba Golden Slot Bar, 22 Fremont Street, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. 5-11-55
