ROSS CLARK, Second Vice-President LAW DEPARTMENT AUG 26 1907 S,P.L.A.,& S.L.R.R-CO Los Angeles, Cal., August 24, 1907. I n Reply refer to File No. 153-A Mr. W. R. Kelly, General Counsel, las Vegas land and Water Co., los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir,- Referring to the attached from Mr.Bettis relative to the Railroad Company paying the land Company interest on money the land Company has turned over to the Railroad Company, which, to date, amounts to $99,107.35; Inasmuch asthe Railroad Company owns all the stock of the las Vegas land and Water Company, I do not think the Railroad Company should pay interest on this balance, i would suggest that the land Company declare a dividend of say $100,000 which the Railroad Company would receive as it owns all the stock, and if you concur in this, I would like to have you take it up with Judge Cornish and see if he also concurs in it, returning to me my file after it has served your purpose. Very "truly yours, I t s Q r ir U L A J il# In cl.
