Bitter: Referring to lease to Ben 0'Dowd on Bonanza Road for construction of beer warehouse: My file indicates a 5-y«&r lease was given O'Bovd effective February 15* 194?, but I understand this was subsequently increased to 26 years. Agent Davis presented a bill for #75*00 to Mr. 0 ‘ Dowd for rental from April 1, 1948 to March 31# 1949# but Mr. 0*Bowd advised him arrangements were being made to terminate the lease. In conversation * with Mr. Q*Dowd, he expressed the wish to terminate the lease because of high building costs and the fact that his business is dropping off. Will you kindly have a termination rider prepared to terminate this lease as of September 1# 1948# and send it out to me for execution by 0 1Dowd. When this is done, the rental can be adjusted to conform. A. X. Folger
