CONSOLIDATED STUDENTS University of Nevada, Las Vegas MINUTES OF SENATE MEETING 0k U. N. L. V. June 26, 1973 I. Meeting was called to order by John Moylan at 7:1*5. II. Roll was taken. III. Minutes Motion by Val Buhecker: I move that we dispense with the reading of the minutes. Seconded by A1 Fabbi. Motion passed unanimously. IV. Old Business A. ELECTIONS FOR VACANT SENATE SEATS Ballots were presented to the Senate for approval of vacant Senate seats. Val Buhecker withdrew Mike Tobler from the ballot under University Senate. Ballots were then collected and the Math & Science votes were tallied. The results were as follows: Rick Cuellar and Henry Eiler were elected Math and Science Senators. The results of the rest of the ballot will be tallied and announced at the next Senate meeting. V. New Business A. OPERATING POLICY OF THE ACTIVITIES BOARD Motion by Gerry Beggs: I move that we accept the operating policy of the Activities Board. Seconded by Steve Reynolds. Motion passed unanimously. - 2 - B. STUDENT GOVERNMENT SIGN The floor was opened to discussion in regard to the sign in the Student Government office stat-ing the following: "Please wait to be announced before going back." Motion by Kevin Beaton: I move that we remove the Seconded by Gary Collie. Motion passed, C. NOMINATION FOR VACANT BUSINESS SENATE SEAT The nomination for the Business Senate seat is as follows: Eugene Belin D. NOMINATION FOR VACANT ARTS & LETTERS SENATE SEAT The nomination for the Arts & Letters Senate seat is as follows: Mark Huchter E. NOMINATION FOR VACANT ALLIED HEALTH SENATE SEAT Helen Rondthaner, a candidate for the Allied Health Senate seat was introduced. F. NOMINATION FOR VACANT FRESHMAN SENATE SEAT Suzzie Hollingsworth, a candidate for the Freshman Senate seat was introduced. G. DATE FOR THE NEXT SENATE MEETING It was decided that the next Senate meeting will be on Monday, July 2, instead of Tuesday the 3rd because of the holiday. IV. Adjournment Motion by Val Buhecker: I move that the meeting sign in the Student Gov-ernment office. be adjourned. Seconded by Richard Torres. Adjournment at 8:15-
