D OCT 19 194 Mr# Win, Reinhardts , _ / | oo Hr* S* 8* Bennett *} Our previous correspondence* aiding with ay letter September 30th* regarding propsoed tax of 3/fy of 1^ on gross revenues of water coE^pany for use of streets and alley* In La* ?«gas* Olty Commissioner Bunker oalled at the office today and expressed concern over the monthly charge the water company would make against the oitf for fire hydrants whloh he understood would be 15*00 per hydrant per month, and whloh ha felt wofeld defeat the purpose of the ordinance which was to raise revenues badly needed In the olty*s presort orltioal financial condition* 1 advised his that we did not intend to set an arbitrary charge of |S<00« per month per hydrant ae a retaliatory measure* although this was the usual charge in other Nevada cities; but th t we felt some compensation was due us for thda service in view of the fact that the city had withdrawn this consideration fr o m over existing Permit# He then offered to discuss with his felloe ectasias ionsrs an amendment to the od&ln&nee which would exclude fr o m the tax feature water ooiap&ny furnishing water free of charge for lire hydrants# thus returning us to our previous statue* He stated that he and the other commissioners Intended to discuss this with you on your last visit here# but the press of other business prevented. Will it be agreeable if 1 handle with the commissioners on the above basis?
