To catch yon np on where Hotel Association stands, we are handling the reception following the Career Day activities in conjunction with ARA Services. To clarify our position, just look at it as an HA event with the food being subcontracted to ARA as per their exclusive campus contract With all that is happening around the world this year as well as the international aspects of the job market the main theme of this reception will be based upon the Simmer Olympics in Barcelona. This theme will be reflected very heavily in the reception through the menu developed in great part by Solomon Ets- Hokm, the room layout and decorations and the service personnel. The reception will be comprised of six service stations representing six different nations or global regions (U.SA-. Mexico, Spain, France Italy and the Pacific Rim countries.) Each station will be manned by service personnel attired in costumes reminiscent of their respective countries. Furthermore; each station will be decorated so as to represent scenes from the respective countries. We have been asked to" design something described by CSUN president Roderick Colebrook to put on 'the best UNLV has ever seen.' With our resources and talent and the $8000 budget given by CSUN, we should have no problem meeting this expectation. The individual stations will be represented as follows: U.&A- Mfrrira Pari fir Southwest scene Mexican border village Unsure (depends upon menu) Spain France My Paloma Bullfighters Nightclub w/ showgirl Venetian canals/ or Summer Olympics or Paris Bistro/Cafe Old Italy ^ ^ T f o t h msfjimf^ wnH Kftrjrgm^ scenery can be comimsioned for under $600 fortable^^iraSoag^Jt is expected that some, if not many of tKe items can be found in our closets! " A selection and training process for the IB servers will be developed within the next few days. PROPOSAL FOR CAREER DAY T-SHIRTS Lisa Zetner gave me the name and # for ordering the best priced shirts. The prices are as follows: Quantity= 36 (for hosts and others involved). 100% white colored shirts $5.75 ea. = $207 + $55 $262 100% light colored shirts $6.00 ea. = $216 + $55 $271 100% dark colored shirts $6.25 ea. = $225 = $55 $280 I would like to encumber $300.00 for shirts for Career Day to include tax, unless we do not pay tax then I would like to encumber $280.00 so that we can choose the shirts we like best since the difference in price is so slight.
