UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY LOS ANGELES DIVISION OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 13, 1942. ALL EMPLOYEES; Due to extraordinary demands being made on water facilities in connection with the new industries being developed in Las Vegas, and residential building activity, it is necessary that we conserve water to the fullest extent. All Union Pacific employees are urged to use only water that is absolutely necessary for culinary purposes, and limit the use of water for gardening and lawns to the very lowest minimum. Anyone using so-called desert coolers in their homes, it is important they be equipped with recapture pumps in order to avoid wasting water. Your earnest cooperation is requested, and hope you will comply to the fullest extent and set a good example to the other good citizens of this community. H. H.
