    ORDINANCE NO. 197 ORDINANCE TO REGULATE AND CONTROL THE USE OF STREETS, ALLEYS, AVENUES AND SIDEWALKS, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to linger, loiter about, congregate, or assemble on or around any corner, street, alley, avenue, sidewalk or crosswalk within the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada. 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to sit upon the curbs or sidewalks, or to sit upon, lean against, or stand around, or linger or loiter around any parked automobile or vehicle, when said vehicle is parked at or near the curb of any sidewalk or street, or in any alley in said City of Las Vegas. 3. Any person or persons violating this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and subject to pay a fine in a sum not less than Two Dollars, nor more than One Hundred Dollars, or shall be confined in the City Jail for a period of not less than one day nor more than Fifty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Provided, however, that said imprisonment, in the event of non-payment of any fine levied shall be in the City Jail until such fine is paid at the rate of not to exceed one day for each two dollars ($2.00) of such fine. 4. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed pro tanto. 5. This Ordinance to take effect immediately after its passage and publication, and this Ordinance is passed as an emergency Ordinance. 6. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to have this Ordinance published in Las Vegas Age, a daily newspaper published in said City of Las Vegas, for a period of two weeks, that is to say: once each week. I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was read for the first time at a recessed regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, held on the 31st day of March, and was passed as an emergency Ordinance upon second reading on said last mentioned date, on the following vote: Commissioners Mundy, German, Thomas, and His Honor the Mayor voting Aye. Squires, being duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Managing Editor of the LAS VEGAS AGE, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached City Ordinance No. 197 was published in said newspaper for a period of Two Weeks from April 1, 1933 to April 8, 1933 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: April 1 and 8, 1933. That said newspaper was regularly issued and circulated on each of the dates above named. That the legal charge for publishing the same was $24.30. Signed J. W.
