APPROVAL OF MINUTES: SENATOR DAVY made a motion to approve minutes 30-03, seconded by SENATOR ANZALONE. Move into a vote. Motion passes 22-0-0. V. BOARD AND COMMITTEE REPORTS: SENATOR QURESHI arrives at 6:05 p.m. A. Senate Committee Reports SENATOR MAIETTA stated that the Ways and Means committee did not meet today because the agenda for the meeting was not posted in time to comply with Nevada's Open Meeting Law. B. Faculty Senate/University Committee Reports SENATOR M. MORADKHAN stated that the Rebel Yell Advisory Board will not meet in December. C. Director Reports: NEVADA STUDENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR NYSTROM stated that he has met with Joseph Rios from Multicultural Student Affairs and he has some pretty expensive ideas. This week Director Nystrom is going to be working on homework, as the semester winds down to an end. ELECTIONS BOARD DIRECTOR RAMIREZ stated that she has contacted people to sit on the Elections Board. Spring Budget for the elections and current budget is available if anyone is interested in seeing it. Also the homecoming candidates will be working on their community service work this week. CSUN STUDENT SERVICES DIRECTOR WAINSCOTT was not present, she will give her report during Public Comment, when she is out of class DIRECTOR DE LA FONTAINE arrives at 6:08 p.m. ENTERTAINMENT AND PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR GLANCZ stated he is finished with the football tailgates, unfortunately UNLV lost all of the home games. Rebelpolooza is underway. OFFICE OF STUDENT INFORMATION DIRECTOR DELAFONTAINE stated that she hopes that everyone has a good week and Chad will be giving her report today. Chad Todd stated that the Senate Brochures came in today. There haven't 2 SENATE MINUTES 30-02/ November 15, 1999 been many bios received from the Senate. The man to do the web site is getting paid to start work so the bios need to be in A.S.A.P. C. Business Manager Report BUSINESS MANAGER MOORE stated the weekly expenditures: $41.60 to Reprographics, $49.60 for Comedy Night. Employment Documents need to be done, or you will not receive a pay check for the month of December. And no fee waivers will be paid for until the paper work is in. VII NEW BUSINESS A. Action Item: Discussion/Approval of SENATOR BOHLKE to serve on the Campus Safety and Awareness Committee as submitted by SENATOR GREEN; SENATOR MAIETTA moved to approve, seconded by SENATOR KNAPP. Move into a vote. Motion passes 23-0-0. III. PUBLIC COMMENT DIRECTOR NYSTROM stated that there will be a "Stop DUI" Presentation sponsored by Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity tomorrow in the ballroom. Please come. IX. EXECUTIVE BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS AND SUMMATIONS STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT PECK stated that she put a memo in everyone's box about the basketball ticket procedures. She will be out of the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week at a Board of Regents Meeting. She gave updated information about the crosswalk, the signs have been changed to a lime green color that is more noticeable. In the next two weeks, they are looking to paint the crosswalk. She is still looking for people to sit on the Technology Fee Committee, if anyone is interested please follow up after the meeting. Due to finals coming up in the next few weeks please work with me because I will be very busy finishing my projects. STUDENT BODY VICE PRESIDENT CANEPA stated that she would like to stress the importance of having the bios from the senate A.S.A.P. They are needed for the web page. She needs to speak with the education senators in her office after the meeting. SENATE PRESIDENT FISK stated that he will not be in much this week because he is taking the GRE. Next week's meeting will not be held in the MSU due to renovations that will be taking place. We will not have a meeting the week of finals. The first scheduled meeting for the spring semester is January 10. X GOOD OF THE SENATE SENATOR TURNER had no comment. 3 SENATE MINUTES 30-02/ November 15, 1999 SENATOR ANZALONE had no comment. SENATOR HAMBY had no comment. SENATOR SCHROEDER had no comment. SENATOR CORNELISON had no comment. SENATOR QURESHI had no comment. SENATOR DAYANI had no comment. SENATOR GREEN had no comment. SENATOR ELRIFAI had no comment. SENATOR GANNON had no comment. SENATOR M. MORADKHAN had no comment. SENATOR P. MORADKHAN had no comment. SENATOR CORDONE had no comment. SENATOR KNAPP stated that SENATOR GREEN "doesn't know jack." SENATOR HALE had no comment. SENATOR MAIETTA stated that he has seen the "Stop DUI" Presentation and that it is excellent and everyone should attend. Congratulations to the leadership scholarship recipients. And he also was impressed that the Rebel Yell had a positive article today. SENATOR SCHOENER stated that he would like SENATOR MAIETTA to have a happy birthday. SENATOR BOHLKE had no comment. SENATOR BASTUNAS stated that she would like SENATOR MAIETTA to have a happy birthday. SENATOR BRINK had no comment. SENATOR MURPHY had no comment. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn the meeting made by SENATOR DAVY, seconded by SENATOR CORDONE. Move into a vote. Vote to adjourn passes 23-0-0.
