CIGARETTE LICENSE New Showboat ALTERATION TO CITY HALL Architect's Contract OLD CITY DUMP Removal of Debris Commissioner Sharp moved the application of the Desert Showboat, Inc., dba Showboat for a license for the retail sale of cigarettes and tobacco products for the third quarter of 1954 be granted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp, and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker and Commissioner Jarrett. At this time discussion was held on the contract the City has with Vernon Welborn for the alterations to the City Hall. The City Attorney was instructed to write a letter to Mr. Welborn requesting that he appear before the Board at a meeting to be held August 25, 1954, at 6:30 P.M. to discuss reported lack of supervision in this project. Discussion was held on the work in progress by V. D. Eachus Equipment Rental on an hourly basis for the leveling and removal of debris from the old city dump site. Commissioner Bunker moved that V. D. Eachus be told to stop work on the removal of the old city dump as of August 25, 1954. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent Mayor Baker and Commissioner Jarrett. It was the decision of the Board that a meeting should be held when Mayor Baker returns on the policy of the Commission on the spending of City funds. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, Commissioner Sharp moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none.
