Omaha - April 23, 1953 / Mr. 1. 1. Bennett - Los Angeles 3703.1 (00 - Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr, Mr. Mr. Wm. Reinhardt - Los Angeles W* R. Bouse W. 0. Perkins ¥. W. Smith - Los Angeles W. A. Jurden - Los Angeles B. L. Adamson - Los Angeles 0. M. Bates - Los Angeles L. B. Maag - Las Tegas ) Tour letter April 21, 1953, Bo. 80-11, regarding the Las Vegas Valley Water District's suggestion that certain hooks, maps and records in our possession on sale date he turned over to the district. The only original records maintained in my office relating'to vater production facilities of the railroad are the wBecord of Property Changes”, which is a currently running inventory of all properties and is one of the records we are required to maintain in accordance with the provisions of Valuation Order No. 3 of the Bureau of Valuation, Interstate Commerce Commission. However, the record of the water production facilities at Las Vegas are so interspersed with other water facilities of the railroad that it would he impracticable to furnish copies. Inasmuch as an inventory was made and furnished to the District for the purpose of an appraisal, it appears to me a copy of our Becord of Property Changes would he superfluous. With respect to the distribution facilities of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, we have no original records. We have however, maintained a peneil memorandum record of property changes of these facilities which I believe would give them no more information than they now have in the inventory that was supplied to them along with those of the production facilities for purposes of appraisal. for such records which the operating, engineering or accounting departments are unwilling to furnish, it seems to me the District should he permitted to inspect them within a reasonable period after sale date. 1 suggest therefore that such inspection he limited to not in excess of one year after date of sale. §
