CANNON City Attorney (CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING) A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 3rd day of February, 1953, was called to order at the hour of 7:20 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C.D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner City Manager City Attorney City Clerk Absent: Commissioner Asst. City Mgr. C.D. Baker Wendell Bunker William Peccole Reed Whipple C.W. Shelley Howard W. Cannon Shirley Ballinger Rex A. Jarrett Dora Lord VACATION OF A PORTION OF OAKEY BLVD. Public Hearing Set Commissioner Whipple moved the Public Hearing on the proposed vacation of the North and South 10 feet of Oakey Boulevard be held March 6, 1953 at 7:30 P.M Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: commissioner Jarrett. There being no further business to come before this special meeting the meeting adjourn. ATTEST - Balinger City Cl erk APPROVED: C.D. Baker Mayor Las Vegas, Nevada February A, 1953 A regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, held this 4th day of February, 1953 was called to order at the hour of 7:35 P.M. by His Honor Mayor C.D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner C.D. Baker Wendell Bunker William Peccole Reed Whipple City Attorney City Manager Asst. City Manager City Clerk Absent: Commissioner Howard W. Cannon C.W. Shelley Dora Lord Shirley Ballinger Rex A. Jarrett PAYROLL Warrants Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1397 to 1403 inclusive in the net amount of $36,612.36 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Jarrett. This being the time heretofore set for the rehearing on the application of Paradise Groves Inc. for rezoning lots in the proposed Paradise Groves Subdivision from R-l to R-2, His Honor announced that those persons present who were interested would be given an opportunity to speak. Those who appeared and spoke on behalf of the proposed rezoning were: Madison Graves, representing Paradise Groves Inc. William J. Moore R.J. Kaltenborn There were also a number of property owners living in the vicinity who opposed this rezoning because there was no through street from this proposed subdivision to South 5th Street. Thereafter the Board announced that they would take this matter under consideration and announce their decision at a future time. At this time Commissioner Whipple left the meeting. This being the time set for the Public Hearing on the application of George Scully for rezoning of Lots 11, 12, 13, Block 4, Meadows Addition from R-3 (Multiple Dwelling) Use District to R-4 (Apartment) Use District, His Honor asked if there was anyone present who wished to object to this rezoning.
