Discussion followed relative to the advisability of billing under metered rates during the summer months, but it was agenerally agreed that metering had to be started soon in order to make the change-over gradually and also to give the District some experience with metered rates. A motion was duly made by Director Cornwall, seconded by Director Rosevear, and unanimously approved by the five Directors present, that billing under metered rates in the Greater Las Vegas No. 1 and Francisco Park No. 2 Subdivisions be com­menced effective June 1, 1956. EASEMENT FROM UNION PACIFIC An Easement from the Union Pacific covering a 14-inch transite line originally scheduled for removal, but left in at the request of the railroad, was submitted for approval. A motion was duly made by Director Rosevear, seconded by Director Cornwall, and unanimously approved by the five Directors present, that Easement "NML.D. 2995 from the Union Pacific be approved, and that the proper officers be authorized to execute same on behalf of the District. POWER LINE EASEMENT FOR SOUTHERN NEVADA POWER COMPANY The following letter from Southern Nevada Power Company dated April 25, 1956, was read by Attorney McNamee and considered by the Board. MLas Vegas Valley Water District ATT: Mr. W. C. Renshaw P. 0. Box 1109 Las Vegas, Nevada Gentlemen: I am enclosing herewith an easement over a portion of the property located in Sections 30 and 32, Township 20 South, Range 6l East, M.D.B. & M., together with a sketch showing existing easements on your property which are designated in blue, and the proposed which are designated in red. In furnishing the power company with this easement, it will assure the Las Vegas Valley Water District of an additional source of power for the Alta substation which is the substation through which you are being served. It will allow us to connect in series the Alta substation, the Union Pacific Railroad substation and the Lewis Street substation. Arrangements have been made with the railroad company to erect a pole line across their property. It will be necessary that we be furnished an easement over your property previous to the time we can complete this circuit. If there are any questions in regard to this matter, I will be happy to appear before the board if you feel that is necessary. Very truly yours, SOUTHERN NEVADA POWER CO. /s/ HARRY ALLEN"
