An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO, AND MAKING A PART OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CERTAIN SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED TERRITORY ADJOINING AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; DECLARING SAID TERRITORY AND INHABITANTS TO BE ANNEXED THERETO AND SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND ORDINANCE; ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY TO BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF THE COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Fountain for recommendation. BEL AIR TRACT NO. 3 The Commission considered the recommendations of the Engineering Department that the off-site Acceptance and Release improvements installed under subdivision improvement agreement by the Highland of Bond Development Corporation on Bel Air Tract No. 3 be accepted and the Anchor Casualty Company Bond No. 16-142069 in the amount of $19,654.80 be released. Commissioner Bunker moved that the offsite improvements installed under subdivision improvement agreement by the Highland Development Corporation on Bel Air Tract No. 3 be accepted and the Anchor Casualty Co. Bond No. 16-142069 in the amount of $19,654.80 be released. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. USE PERMIT (U-3-58) The Commission considered the recommendation of the Engineering Department that improvements IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT under an offsite improvement agreement issued to Thomas F. Eagan and Patrick J. Eagan Thomas & Patrick Eagan under Use Permit (U-3-58) which was approved by the Board of City Commissioners on March 5, Sun N Sand Motel 1958, be accepted and the Royal Indemnity Co. Bond in the amount of $618.70 be released. Acceptance and Release Commissioner Whipple moved that the offsite improvements under an offsite improvement of Bond agreement issued to Thomas F. Eagan and Patrick J. Eagan under Use Permit (U-3-58) be accepted and the Royal Indemnity Co. Bond in the amount of $618.70 be released. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. LION'S PARK WATER LINE The Commission considered the recommendation of the Engineering Department that the work BID NO. 58.33 under Bid No. 58.33; Contract 651H.43, for the installation of a water line to serve Lion's Park which has been completed, be accepted and the final payment in the amount of $832.34 be Longley Construction paid to the Longley Construction Company and the Great American Indemnity Co. Bond in the Company amount of $8,253.65; be released. Acceptance and Release Commissioner Fountain moved that the Lion's Park Water Line, Bid No. 58.33 be accepted; of Bond that Royal Indemnity Co. Bond in the amount of $618.70 be released; and the final payment in the amount of $832.34 to the Longley Construction Company be approved and the Director of Finance and City Treasurer authorized to issue the warrant. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SLURRY SAND CONTRACT The Commission considered the request for authorization to be given to advertise for bids Request to advertise to be opened February 18, 1959, for 5,000 tons of slurry sand to be used by the Street for Bids to be opened Department during the period from March 1, 1959 to September 30, 1959. The estimated cost February 18, 1959 of this material is $10,000. Sufficient funds are available in the present budget to cover cost between now and July 1, 1959, remainder will be budgeted in next year's budget. Commissioner Fountain moved that the City Clerk be authorized to publish notice to bidders for 5,000 tons of slurry sand to be used by the Street Department during the period from March 1, 1959 to September 30, 1959, bids to be opened February 18, 1959. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. STREET PAVING FOR Under agreement with the Clark County Engineering Department, the County is excavating, STEWART AVE., 28TH placing base courses and preparing the base for that portion of Stewart Avenue from 25th STREET & SUNRISE AVE. Street to 28th Street, on 28th Street from Stewart Avenue to Sunrise Avenue and on Sunrise Avenue from 25th Street to 28th Street. Request to Advertise for Bids to be opened On the completion of the base construction, it is requested that a contract be entered into February 4, 1959 for placing of road surfacing to complete the work. The School District has agreed to pave that portion of the surfacing which fronts the Sunrise School and Handicapped Children's School. The total estimated cost is $28,000.00. This includes curb and gutter. The School District will assume approximately $8,500.00; the National Guard, $3,500.00 and the City portion will be $16,000.00. Commissioner Whipple moved that the City Clerk be authorized to publish notice to bidders for road surfacing for that portion of Stewart Avenue from 25th Street to 28th Street, on 28th Street from Stewart Avenue to Sunrise Avenue and on Sunrise Avenue from 25th Street to 28th Street, bids to be opened February 4, 1959. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. HINSON & W. CHARLESTON The Commission considered the request to advertise for bids to be opened February 4, 1959; TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND for the installation of 2 street lights and traffic signals at the intersection of Hinson STREET LIGHTS and West Charleston; estimated cost, $7,500.00. Advertising to be subject to approval of the Board of County Commissioners of the plan and agreement of the County to assume half of the Request to advertise cost, for Bids to be opened February 4, 1959 Commissioner Bunker moved that the City Clerk be authorized to publish notice to bidders for the installation of 2 street lights and traffic signals at the intersection of Hinson and West Charleston subject to approval of the Board of County Commissioners of the plan and agreement of the County to assume half of the cost of the traffic signals. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SURFACING OF RESERVOIR The Commission considered the request to advertise for bids to be opened February 18, 1959, AT GOLF COURSE to lay a 3" asphalt lining inside the reservoir at the Golf Course at an estimated cost of $7000.00. Request to Advertise Commissioner Fountain moved that the City Clerk be authorized to publish notice to bidders for Bids to be opened to lay a 3" asphalt lining inside the reservoir at the Golf Course.
