Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved the application of Elias Atol for a license for the retail sale of cigarettes at Charlie's Liquor Store and Beer Bar, formerly called Phil's Liquor Store be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved that the application of the Arrowhead U-Drive Corporation for the renewal of licenses for 6 U-Drives be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. The application of the Boulder Cab Company for a license for two additional taxis was referred to the City Manager for report at the next regular Board meeting, February 16, 1955. Commissioner Whipple moved that an ordinance be prepared by the City Attorney, placing a penalty upon all delinquent business licenses, including gambling and liquor licenses. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Whipple moved that the application of Dave Wolzinger for a renewal of the gaming license of the Pony Express at 123 South 1st Street be approved. Mr. Earl Turman appeared before the Board stating that he had bought out all of the interest of his partner, Willie Robertson, in the Chicadee Club, and requested that Mr. Robertson's name be omitted from the license. He also asked approval of his application for an additional "21" game. Commissioner Sharp moved that Mr. Turman's application for deletion of Willie Robertson from the gaming and liquor licenses of the Chicadee Blub be approved, and that he be granted a license for one additional "21" game. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp moved that the Mayor be authorized to sign a complaint on the condemnation of the alley behind the Dollar Market. Commissioner Sharp moved that the escrow instructions for the proposed fire station site on the SE corner of Utah and Industrial be changed to an option to purchase, and the Mayor be authorized to sign the necessary papers for the purchase of this property on May 15, 1955.
