The Davis 1 show played to a capacity ; opening night audience at the I Sands?╟╓ Copa Room. Celebrity- | spotters could catch the Fifth | Dimension, Brad Dexter and B. I B. King among the ringsiders. Sammy performs with all his customary verve and energy; and the intimacy of a club as opposed to a mammoth auditorium provides him with the perfect frame- work. Yet it?╟╓s a slightly more meliowed Davis from the viewpoint of personality, than one might expect. He opens with a rhythmic Bye Bye Blackbird?╟Ñ and does a stunningly smoldering "Can?╟╓t Help Lovin?╟╓ Dat_ Gal.?╟Ñ He brings the show to an ap- plause-garnering halt with a West Side Story?╟Ñ medley ?╟≤?╟÷ not just the conventional "Mar- ia?╟Ñ and ?╟úTonight?╟Ñ but also the ||PS +wiuuar uee, unicer Krupke and ?╟úI Feel Pretty/r It s a standout salute to the musical.
