We have b e e n receiving complaints in this connection since the shortage of w a t e r was first apparent in May. In fact, on June 15th Mrs. Stewart a n d her siste* Tiza instructed their a t t o r n e y Mr. Hinman to bring suit against the Company for damage to the bu r i a l plot and failure to live u p to the terms of contract contained in deed dated December 8, 1902 w h i c h cov e r e d the sale of the Stewart r a n c h to W i l l i a m A. Clark, at w h i c h time four inches of w a t e r was reserved. A f t e r several conferences w i t h Mr. H i n m a n w e convinced him that we c o u l d not deliver the w a t e r if we did not have it, a n d avoided this suit for the time being. Fortunately, on J u n e 20th we picked u p sufficient w a t e r in reserve to permit the supply to run over the spillway at the reservoir and a g o o d sized stream of w a t e r ran d o w n the creek a n d reached the b u r i a l plot for a period of three days.
