    We’re Celebrating Milestones...
    and Creating New Ones
History professor John S. Wright views the 1964 construction of the
social sciences building that would later carry his name. The dedicated
professor taught at UNLV from 1956 to 1976, including eight years as
chair of the social sciences department. He was an inspiration to his
students and well respected by his fellow faculty members.
The rededication of John S. Wright
Hall is another milestone for UNLV.
The reconstructed hall is the first
building planned and designed with the
wireless student in mind. With wireless
connectivity and a series of multimedia
tools, it is setting a new standard for
    teaching and learning.
The renovation also gives us a chance
to celebrate the milestones of a campus
pioneer. Dr. Wright, a 20-year history
professor, was the first recipient of the
    UNLV Alumni Association’s Distinguished
Faculty Award and one of the first
    professors awarded emeritus status.
John S. Wright helped open the world to
students. Now his building is connecting
students to a whole new world.
