CLAIM FOR DAMAGE Commissioner Fountain moved the claim of Charles M. Libby in the amount of $40.20 C.M. Libby for damage to his automobile when the wind blew over a tree be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. J.W. & Madge Pursel Commissioner Sharp moved the claim of J.W. and Madge Pursel in the amount of $1,128.86 for damage to their residence at 925 South 3rd Street caused by a back up of the sewer be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 21419 through 21945 in the net amount of $75;000.69 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 1252 through WARRANTS 1439 in the total amount of $70,203.32 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. MINUTES Commissioner Whipple moved the Minutes of April 16 and 23, 1958 be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp passed his vote. SOLICITATIONS FOR City Manager Kennedy requested that the resolution concerning notification to local YOUTH merchants that all solicitations for youth activities should be cleared through the Youth Advisory Board be held until the next regularmeeting. Mr. Kennedy stated that a meeting was being arranged between the Youth Advisory Council and the Solicitations Review Board to discuss this matter. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 33, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, Taxicabs 1949, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE 486 BY PROVIDING INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR TAXICABS; ADDING NEW SECTIONS; REQUIRING A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATIONS HEREOF, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Whipple for recommendation. 5-7-58
