New water rates, Mr. P. H. Knicke gulations, Las Vegas, Nevada, os Angeles, April 16, 1931, Herewith original and two copies of new schedule of rates, rules and regulations which it is proposed to make effective on June 1, 1931, covering water service in the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, in lieu of all existing schedules now in effect* If this is approved and executed by the Company, the original should be returned to me, so that I may file it with the Public Service Commission and arrange for the noticing of an early hearing. Our instructions were to adjust the new schedule so as to bring about an increase of 100 per cent. In some instances we have increased the old rates 100 per cent, but on the average the increase is about 60 per cent, or sufficient to earn the maximum profit on our investment that we believe will be permitted by the Public Service Commission* This revision was made on a flat monthly rate basis, as the Legislature of Nevada, under an act approved March 22, 1931, has made it unlawful for any utility, other than cities and towns owning and operating their own water works, for any purpose or object whatever, to use any mechanical water meter or similar device to measure the quantity to water users* of water delivered FRM-MK cc Mr. Walter Bracken (with copy of schedule) Mr* R, L, Adamson n n t» n Mr* A.
