Las Vegas, Nev. Febr. 7, 1930 W-35-l Subject: Annual Report - Water and Electric Utilities - 1929. Mr. C.C.Barry, Auditor, Los Angeles, Calif. Dear Sir: Referring to your letter of February 1, 1930, LV-16, requesting certain data to be used in compiling report to the Public Service Commission of Nevada, for the year 1929: answers in the same order as questions were asked. (1) K.W.H. Electric current purchased:- 48,281 K.w.h. (2) Number of Consumers and K.W.H. consumed, by each. A. Residential :- 67 consumers, 34,655 .H. B. Commercial (Rooming House classed as Commercial):- one consumer, 13,326 C. Municipal: None D. Other Public Service Corporations:- None (3) Classification and number of water consumers:- A. Residential:- 977 consumers B. Commercial:- 198 " C. Industrial:- 11 " D. Municipal:- 6 " (4) Separation of Revenue. For your information, I have numbered and arranged the A. Metered sales to general consumers:- B. Flat rate sales to general consumers:- C. Other water utilities:- J. Miscellaneous Municipal sales:- (5) source of water supply:- Artesian well and two springs. - 2 - (6) Maximum water supply:- To L.V.L. & W.Co., 639,353,100 gallons. (7) Total water pumped or diverted from streams:- None. Water flowing down Las Vegas Creek is from the Middle Spring and Settling Basin. (8) Total water acid or metered:- 639, 353, 100 gallons. (9) Tota.1 water unaccounted for:- None, as all water passing through our mains is presumed to*be used by consumers. (10) Total cubic feet of water purchased:- During January,February and March 1929, there were 7,184,805 cubic feet of water purchased, as reflected in Ledger Account ^78, General Balance 8heet, December 31, 1929. Effective April 1st, the purchase of water ceased and this Company started paying rent for use of pipe line and other railroad facilities as covered by LA&SL Contract, Audit No. 7322. (11) Important chances during the year:- (a) December 1st, 1929, for consideration of $1.00, we took possession of water mains formerly operated by the Park-view Mutual Water Company. This change was made to facilitate handling of these mains, as the Parkview Mutual water Company, which was a non-profit organization (furnishing water at actual cost) was at that time required to install meters. The cost of same being approximately $450.00, while they operated only760 feet of pipe line. (b) During this time, new agreements were executed with abutting sub-divisions on the basis of meter rates in lieu of flat rate. (c) A new 24" cast iron pipe line connecting with the new reservoir (which are railroad property) were completed.
