Knickerbocher, General Manager, LosAngeles, C a lifo rn ia . >> Dear S i r : R eferrin g to your p e n cil memorandum of November 1 5 th , inquiring with regard to sta tu s of onr l e t t e r September 27th to the Public Service Commission holding up amendment to schedule of water r a te s : of October 24th, s ta tin g th a t a f te r conference with A ttorney McRamee we decided to withdraw our request fo r increased r a te s on c e r ta in s e rv ic e s , for reasons of p o licy , and to which was attached copy of l e t t e r to the Public Service Commission under date of October 18th withdrawing the amendment above mentioned. We expect to allow the matter to r e s t as i t i s fo r the p resen t, and instead endeavor to have a change made in the present law p roh ib itin g the use of meters in towns of over 4,500 p op u lation ,— ra is in g th is maximum to 10,000 which would permit the use of meters in Las Yegas. I f th is e ff o r t f a i l s , then we w ill r e f i l e with the Commission for perm ission to e ith e r amend the r a te s or the r u le s , as may be necessary, to conserve onr water supply in the hot summer months.
