BRACKEN, VlCE-PRES. & AGT., LAS VEGAS, NEV. a Las Vegas, Nevada, March 7 th, 19£1 • r Mr. J. Ross Clark, Pres., Las Vegas Land and Water Co., Los Angeles, California. / Lear Sir:- Acknowledging your letter of February 28th. marked "confidential", with reference to sale of unplatted ground east of Las Vegas ifcownsitei' Calvin in reference to my'~ being connected with the proposed buyers of this land^-aold wish to inform you that I have not as yet, nor will I, invest a dollar in the proposition. The parties desiring to purchase this property were Mr. Park ard the other directors of the Bank, and while my intention had been to simply have an interest with them in it, I w uld at no time have had an active interest therein. However, in complying with Mr. Calvinrs wish, I am entirely out of it, and if the property is purchased, it will be by Mr. Park, the Cashier, Mr. Wingert, the Assistant Cashier, Mr. Leo A. MeNamee, Director, and W. E. Hawkins, Director. In submitting their proposition, I feel that I was misunderstood, as the same was submitted as a counter proposition in connection with the thought of our platting this ground ourselves, and the question arose in my mind as to whether it would be best to dispose of it at the figure they offer or to handle it through the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, and that is why I sought and submitted the proposition from them to handl this particular piece of ground. We could readily open up this parcel of ground ourselves and in time realize more from the sales than were we to sell it at $50.00 per lot which is their offer, but the increased taxation after sub-divided and time of disposal along with estimated cost (S$l§,000.00.) for surveying, staking, curbing and laying the water mains etc. makes it a serious question iss iwjr T-nii'iii/l. to know which to recommend. I appreciate ver/much the posi tion taken by Mr
