Dear Jesse: I have frequently Dad occasion to attempt to ascertain from our Auditing Department and t r a f f i c Department the average weights of numerous commodities, the information to be used either in connection with preparation o f b rie fs or on cross-examination, and in order to have this information in compact form I recently requested our Auditing: Department to pre­pare a statement of those commodities which are re­ported to the Interstate Commerce Commission, cover­ing the union P a c ific System as a whole and the four unite. I am enclosing herewith two copies of that statement, one fo r yourself and one I would appreciate i f you would pass on to Mr. Robbins, as I believe he may find i t of some value. Although this Information I s , to a large extent, in certain reports published by the Interstate Commerce Commission, I believe the en­closed statements w ill be o f some benefit to you in the preparation of your exhibits and testimony. Sorry you were not able to get down here this summer, and am s t i l l hoping you w ill find some excuse fo r me to come up to Portland at the expense of the Union P a c ific .
