The members of all Las Vegas service clubs have been in-vited to hear the important message - brought to us by Mr. French. * * * * * * * * * * LAST WEEK Our program last week consisted of very interesting and complete reports on the District Conference at Hotel Hunting-ton, Pasadena, by John Seville, Harry Allen and Allye Lawson. What sometimes is a drab and uninteresting series of re-ports was given live interest by the man-ner in which each treated his particular part of the proceedings. * * * * * * * * * * NEXT WEEK Our next meeting will be devoted to instruction and initiation of members ad-mitted to the club during the Rotary year 1949-1950. (By the way, President Leon-ard is proud of the new members invited into the Club during M s term as Presi-dent. ) * * * * * * * * * * * * ON TO DETROIT President-Elect Allye Lawson expects to leave on the first leg of his journey to Detroit, on one of Ed Converse's Bonan-za Air Lines, next Sunday morning. The Convention of Rotary Internation-al will be held June 19, 20, 21 and 22, after which Allye will hurry hone to assist in the demotion of President Leonard. JIM AT TAHQE The "Wheel" reporter, Jim Shaver, is spending this week at Lake Tahoe with his whole family. A delightful vacation. They are expected home in time for next week's meeting. Probably Jim will make up this week at one of the Lake Tahoe Rotary Clubs. * * * * * * TEXANS There were a lot of Texans at our meeting HOME AGAIN "Tex!' Bladsnan and Rotary Ann Isa-belle have returned from an extended trip to the New England States, during which they attended some interesting meetings and saw many historic cities. They have kept in touch with us through make-up cards and postals from places of interest. Goumond. It promises to be a hot time in every re-spect. Steps have been taken by the com-mittee to assure the attendance of retir-ing President Leonard. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * t * % SHRINE CIRCUS Frank Gusewelle last week made a plea for attendance at the Shrine Circus, June 29, 30 and July 1, for the benefit of Shrine Hospitals for crippled children. The sentiment is that no Rotarian will last week. Jim Shaver declares that none, . of them could sing their "National Anthem" —"The Eyes of Texas." SERVICE We have received a letter from Byron Billhardt of San Pedro, California. He calls our attention to a Las Vegas Rotar-ian who went out of his way to procure lodgings for some out-of-tovmers. Who was he?
