Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote:Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting ayej noes, none. Absent:Commissioner Bunker, CONTRACT-Telephone Service US Army Commissioner Jarrett moved the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the contract with the United States Amry covering toll service furnished by the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote:Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent Commissioner Bunker. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING R/W Deed Maryland Parkway On motion of Commissioner Whipple, duly seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried unanimously the following Resolution is adopted and order made: #322 R E S O L U T I O N BE IT RESOLVED, this 20th day of August, 1952, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed dated the 15th day of August, 1952, executed by the Southridge Development Co. Inc., to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions as therein set forth; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that same be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State Nevada, and filed in the records of this Board. And V. Kaltenborn, dated July 1, 1952 3) Jessie N. CIGARETTE APPLICATION Commissioner Peccole moved the application of Grover G. Hill for a license for the retail sale of cigarettes and tobacco products at 5051/2 Jackson Street be approved. EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 504 Civil Service An ordinance entitled: AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO AMEND EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 468 ENTITLED: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LaS VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE EMPLOYES OF Sa ID CITY, DEFINING TERMS: PROVIDING FOR EXAMINATION, ESTABLISHING ELIGIBILITY LISTS: PROVIDING FOR APPOINTMENTS: PROMOTIONS: DISCIPLINARY ACTION: REPORTS AND RECORDS: CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS: AND ALL MATTERS RELATING THERETO: AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 391 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH" BY FILLING POSITIONS IN COMPETITIVE SERVICE WITHOUT THE RESIDENCE REQUIREMENT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS: AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read in full to the Board. ORDINANCE NO. 505 Narcotics An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THe COMMITMENT AND TREATMENT OF NON*MEDICAL DRUG ADDICTS, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Whipple moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 505 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent:Commissioner Bunker. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Liquor Commissioner Whipple, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the liquor ordinance requested additional time before reporting. PROPUSeD ORDINANCE Trailer Courts Commissioners Peccole and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed Trailer Court ordinance requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Traffic Commissioner Jarrett, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Traffic Ordinance requested additional time before reporting. DESERT SNACK BAR Restaurant Beverage License At this time the investigation of the Police Department on Fred and Georgana Broadbent, applicants for a Restaurant Beverage license at the Desert Snack Bar, 222 North Main Street was presented to the Board for consideration. This report revealed that Mr. and Mrs. Broad-bent are not registered Voters in the State of Nevada. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the Clerk notify Mr. and Mrs. Broadbent that since they do not meet the requirements for a liquor license, that they discontinue the sale of beer immediately. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote;Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent Commissioner Bunker. POLICE DEPARTMENT Reports The reports from the Police Department on J. Frank Edds, lessee of the "21" game and Crap Table at the Frontier Club, and interest holders in the Pioneer Club, were ordered filed.
