JEWISH FEDERATION OF LAS VEGAS HOLOCAUST EDUCATION COMMITTEE EDUCATORS' CONFERENCE SUBCOMMITTEE Meeting - March 22, 1994, 4:00 p . m. Jewish Federation of Las Vegas 3909 S. Maryland, Suite 305 Those in attendance : Karla McComb, Chairperson, Carol Almson, Gary Bedunnah, Beverly Eisen, Shelley Fischer, Wendell Gray, Pat Holland, Edythe Katz, Shir-ley Kravitz, Linda Maroney, Barbara Rosenberg, Roz Sbarra, Myra Slotnick, Beth Weinberg, Michael Weisberg. Before the meeting officially began, the committee viewed the PSA produced by Michael Weisberg and students from Green Valley High School . The ex-cellent PSA was applauded by everyone. Slight changes in the tex t portion will be made for clarification purposes . The meeting was called to order a t4:20 p.m. by Karla McComb, chairperson . Final plans for the Educators ' Conference were discussed. All written invitations have been sent out . Survivors, children of sur-vivors and liberators will be called and invited to attend the dinner and evening program . A thank-you acknowledgement list has been started . Please contact Karla with any additions. Duplicat e workshops were not needed, and have been e liminated. Responses have been less than anticipated. about 150 attendees . Discussion followed. As of today, we have total of It was decided that we contact the high school teachers who will be attending, and ask each teacher to invite three students. Teachers need to contact Karla's office by Friday afternoon with names and dinner choices of n ew attendees . Other suggestions were discussed r egarding attendees . The Conference begins at 3 : 00 p.m. Committee members will be there earlier to set up and assist with registration and other duties . The bags will be f illed the Tuesday before the Confer enc e . Gary Bedunnah will assist Karla in moving mat e rials to the site . Room numbers will be needed for work-shop designations. AV needs were discussed. Roz Sbarra will bring material for handouts . Parking will be free if attendee states he is attending the Holocaust Educators ' Conference. The writt en program was discuss ed. We need bio informa tion on all work-shop l eaders and other participants . Badges will be coded fo r workshops . Committee members will wear ribbons on badges to be noticeable . The evening program was discussed. Edythe will introduce Karla, and Karla will introduce Yaffa Eliach. CCSD superintendent, Brian Cram, will attend and we lcome teachers.
