Oarr Health Officer Stewart & Seoond Streets Las Vegas, Hevada Bear Boo tar O&rrt In reply to your latter May 25th regarding contamination of water suprly as indicated by laboratory analysis of several samples submitted from the North Side and Stewart Street Bis trio ts in the fofN^pntt of M*y« As soon as ire were advised of this result by the by the Board of Health we immediately obtained the chlorinating machine (temporarily out of service from the open spring) and commenced dosing chlorine into the Ogden Street transmission main from which the North Side received its water supply and hen e into the rest of the system* this operation was continued for four day* and nights and teats were made at the extreme ends of the system with the residual indicator to determine that the chlorine was getting thru in the proper amounts. At the end of this time the line vac thoroughly flushed and and new sample* resubmitted from the same locations and analysis developed the contamination had cleared up* In accordance with your suggestion we obtained samples fro® each of the eleven
