This Ordinance was read aloud to the Board for the first time at a recessed regular meeting of the Board on the 17th. day of November, 1941, at which time it was proposed, considered and voted upon and unanimously adopted and thereafter published in the Las Vegas Age, for a period of once each week for two consecutive weeks immediately following it's first reading. And it was thereafter read aloud to the Board a second time at a recessed regular meeting of the Board on the 6th. day of October, 1942. Voting Aye: Commissioners Rubidoux, Tinch, and His Honor the Acting Mayor, A. F. Smith, Sr. Voting No: None. Absent and not voting: Mayor Garrison, Commissioner Clark. A. F. Brimacombe, being duly sworn, deposes and says: That she is general manager of Las Vegas Age, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached Ordinance No. 279 was published in said newspaper for a period of two weeks from September 11, 1942 to September 18, 1942 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: September 11 and 18, 1942. (SEAL) My commission expires June 9, 1943. -AN ORDINANCE NO. 280 AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE SOUTHERLY SEVENTY-FIVE (75) FEET OF THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTHERLY AND SOUTHERLY THROUGH BLOCK NUMBER FIFTEEN IN CLARK'S LAS VEGAS TOWNSITE IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA, FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT PURPOSES. The Board of commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. That in order to promote the public welfare of said City of Las Vegas, it is hereby ordained and directed that the southerly seventy-five (75) feet of the alley running northerly and southerly through Block number fifteen (15) in Clark's Las Vegas Townsite in the City of Las Vegas, as delineated on the official and record plat of the survey thereof on record in the office of the County Recorder of Clark County, Nevada, in Book I of Plats at Page 37 Clark County, Nevada Records, be and the same is hereby vacated for use by the Las Vegas Police Department as a parking area, provided, however, that said southerly seventy-five feet of said alley shall be closed and kept closed after the passage and going into effect of this Ordinance, solely by and at the expense of the City of Las Vegas. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication for two weeks in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas. I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 280 was read for the first time at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the City of Las Vegas, held on the 16th of November, 1942; that Notice of Intention to Vacate said alley was published in the Las Vegas Review Journal on the 18th and 23rd days of November, 1942; that the foregoing Ordinance was read for the second time on December 4, 1942, at a regular meeting of said Board of commissioners, and passed upon the following vote: Voting Aye: Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch, and His Honor Mayor Howell C, Garrison.
