VARIANCE APPLICATION John Gray V-41-54 Approved ELSTNER MANOR Tentative Map CITY ATTORNEY Military Leave ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-23 Resolution for Bond Issue Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The application of John Gray for a variance to reconstruct a storage room into a guest house to within 3 feet of the side property line and to within 4 feet of the existing single family residence on Lot 8, Block 18, Bucks Subdivision at 815 Mesquite in an R-3 zone, as approved by the Board of Adjustment, was considered at this time. Thereafter Commissioner Whipple moved the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment be accepted and the following resolution adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas in a regular meeting on the 2nd day of June, 1954, having considered the application of John Gray for a variance to reconstruct a storage room into a guest house at 815 Mesquite; and The Board having considered the decision of the Board of Adjustment recommend­ing approval of this application. NOW, THEREFORE, it is the decision of this Board that the application of John Gray, V-41-54, as approved by the Board of Adjustment be and the same is hereby granted and the inspection departments are authorized to issue the necessary permits. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved to refer the tentative map of Elstner Manor back to the Planning Commission for further study. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that the request of the City Attorney for Military Leave from June 7 to June 18, 1954 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the following resolution for Bond Issue on Assessment District No. 100-23 be adopted; said bids to be opened on July 7, 1954 at 7:30 P.M.: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas have taken steps to create certain public improvements; and WHEREAS, the time has now arrived to authorize and direct the City Clerk to advertise for bonds all in accordance with the proceedings heretofore taken to construct said improvements by special assessment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of June, 1954, that the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners be and she is hereby directed to publish notice that the Board of Commissioners will receive bids for bonds for Special Assess­ment District No. 100-23 in the aggregate principal amount of $331,452.54. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commis­sioners be and she hereby is directed to publish notice of the receipt of bids for said bonds by publication on June 6, 13, 20, 27 and July 4, 1954, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commis­sioners be directed to publish in said notice that the bids for said bonds will be re­ceived until 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, the 7th day of July, 1954, and said bids will be opened at 7:30 P.M. or thereabouts on said day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said notice shall be in substantially the form attached to this Resolution and made a part hereof. NOTICE OF SALE OF CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-23, STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERES OF JULY 1, 1954 $331,452.54 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada will on the 7th day of July, 1954, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., at the City Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada offer for sale, receive sealed bids and publicly open the same for, the following des­cribed special assessment negotiable coupon bonds of said City: City of Las Vegas Assessment District No. 100-23, Street Improve­ment Bonds, Series of July 1, 1954 in the aggregate principal amount of $331,452.54, dated July 1, 1954, consisting of 340 bonds numbered consecutively from 1 to 340, both inclusive, being in the denominations of $1,000.00 and $100.00 each, except bond numbered one is in the denomination of $552.54, maturing serially in regular numerical order on the first day of July, $33,552.54 in the year 1955; and $33,100.00 in each of the years 1956 to 1964, both inclusive, all bonds being subject to prior redemption on any interest payment date in inverser numerical order at the option of the City whenever funds are available therefor, after fifteen days published notice, upon the payment of the principal amount thereof with accrued interest to the redemption date, and bearing interest payable annually at a rate of not exceeding seven per centum (7%) per annum, both principal and interest being payable at the office of the City Treasurer at Las Vegas, Nevada. 6-2-54
