Las Vegas, Nevada May 18, 1937. Mr. E. E. Bennett: I have prepared applications for permit to appropriate water, to he file d with the State Engineer of the State of Nevada hy Las Vegas Land and Water Company, covering the water developed by the new w e ll. One of said applications is for 2.70 second feet fo r municipal purposes, and the other is fo r 2.4138 second feet fo r irrig a tio n purposes. I enclose herewith two copies of each of said applications. I am also enclosing a memorandum showing the water supply at Las Vegas, from reports made to me by Mr. Bracken. Before f i l i n g these applications, I believe i t would be w ell to have the Engineering Department check them over to see that my computations are correct. When checked, the o rigin al applications can be signed by Mr. Bracken, as Vice President. I think it would be w ell also fo r the Engineering Department to check over the data, copy of which is enclosed, I with the view of determining whether or not there should /J?~f be a new contract between the Railroad Company and Las Vegas Land and Water Company, to take the place of the existing Contract, Audit No. 7322, dated March 30, 1929. As I understand i t , the new w ell was d rille d by and at the expense of the Railroad Company, but the f u ll amount of the water developed is to be used by the Land and Water Company. You w i ll note that a part of the land described in the Application fo r irrig a tio n purposes and which is now being developed by D. G. Lorenzi under his^lease, is Railroad land.
