Mr. Knickerbocker - #2 3/26/25 I f permitted to close out Work Order 4707 on this basis we w i l l then submit request fo r work covered by Budget Item 98 fo r concrete se ttlin g basin with 40* of 20* wood stave pipe and excelsior f i l t e r in water softener, as new additional property. The 24* wood stave pipe lin e 1816* long w i l l replace 1460* of 12" and 370* of 16" V.C. pipe encased in concrete. It is also desired to renew 1808* of 16" V.C* pipe encased in concrete with 16" wood stave pipe, handling both renewals on a betterment b a sis. The 16" wood stave pipe authorized by Work Order 4707 has been pur­chased but delivery deferred due to d e s ir a b ilit y of providing larger pipe fo r the f i r s t section of the lin e . The 1808* o f V.C. pipe encased in concrete constantly causes trouble and should be replaced with 16" W.S. pipe before the pressure is increased by in stallatio n o f 24" pipe at upper end of lin e . The to ta l estimated cost on basis of submitting new request is $22,170, of which $10,175 is chargeable to Capital Account and $11,995 to Operating Expenses, while Budget Item provides for $11,340 chargeable to Capital Account.
