Bates Referring to your letter of July 8th In connection with N.L.D. 2085 covering water contract between the railroad and Leonard R. Payle dba Quality Bakery. As you know, we are expecting momentarily the closing of the transaction whereby the railroad transfers all of its water bearing lands and facilities to the Las Vegas Land and Water Company upon which date the LVL&WCo. will assume the obligation of furnishing water to the industries formerly served by the railroad company. In view of that fact, it seems to me that we should go ahead and serve the new owners of this property water without ertering into a contract between the railroad and the new owners. As a matter of fact, before the contract could be prepared and executed, the transfer transaction will probably have been completed. E. E. Bennett EEB:AFK
