Las Vegas - May 26, %f$k w 2>1~1X0 % Mr* ft* L. Adamson - Los Angeles oot Mr* Hm, Reinhardt Mr. E* 1« Bennett Attached please find copy of letter from Charleston Heights, Inc*, which is signed by m * D. Schroeder, Secretary, to Let Vegas Land and Water Company, dated May 2k, 195^, requesting the Water Company to open negotiations for the installation of s water system to serve Charleston Heights Subdivision in accordance with discussions held between Mr# Adamson of Union Pacific Railroad Company and Mr. Seeker of their organisation* In this letter you will note that he states that their organisation will be available for conference at any time the Water Company desires to Initiate these proceedings* The question of providing water service to Charleston Height® Subdivision was discussed in my letter to you dated May 2 k , 1 9 5 k , with which I furnished you certain maps and a copy of my file memo covering conference held in my office with Mr* Mel Schroeder regarding water mains to serve the Charleston Heights Subdivision* However, in the last paragraph of my file memo 1 stated that Mr* Cory suggested that I take no further action un- , til advised by him, which no longer applies since Mr* Cory In- ' forms me that he has called' Mr* Coulthard, who Is representing Mr. Becker and Mr* Schroeder, and merely informed him that possibly Mr. Schroeder had been misinformed as to the Order of the Commission which provides that the Water Company should extend its mains to the Charleston Heights Subdivision in accordance with Buie 9, and does not provide that the Water Company shall construct these water mains at its own expense. I still do not have copy of the Subdivision map for Unit Ho* 2, but when till® map is received X can proceed to lay out the water lines within this Subdivision; however, it is my understanding that you expect to do some further work on the plan for transmission main and pusping station which will have to be constructed from the elevated steel tank on Charleston Siva, to a connection with the Charleston Heights Subdivision. I would suggest that it might be well for you to advise me what action you plan to take in connection with this tob so that 1 may infora Mr. Schroeder of action being taken in eh&lf of water service to his Subdivision. h# B* Maag LAHtMtraecJhpments
