    ORDINANCE NO. 213. AN ORDINANCE FORBIDDING SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS, HAWKERS, ITINERANT MERCHANTS AND TRANSIENT VENDERS OF MERCHANDISE FROM TRESPASSING IN AND UPON PRIVATE RESIDENCES WHEN UNINVITED SO TO DO BY THE OWNERS AND OCCUPANTS OF SAID PRIVATE RESIDENCES, IN SOLICITING AND ATTEMPTING TO SOLICIT ORDERS, OR IN SELLING AND EXPOSING FOR SALE WARES AND MER­CHANDISE, AND DECLARING SUCH SOLICITING TO BE A NUISANCE, AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR COMMITTING SUCH NUISANCES. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The practise of going in and upon private residences in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants and transient venders of merchandise, not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of said private residence, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, or for the purpose of disposing of or peddl­ing or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance, and punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor. Section 2. Any person convicted of perpetrating a nuisance as described and prohibited in Section 1 of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be fined in any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, ($100.00) or imprisoned in the City Jail for a period not exceeding fifty (50) days, or shall be punished by both such fine and imprison­ment. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its publication and passage. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to have this ordinance published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, once a week for a period of two weeks. Proposed, read aloud in full, and adopted, this 15th day of November, 1934, by the following vote: Commissioners Arnett, German, Marble, and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none. Published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, once a week for two weeks, to-wit : November 16th, and November 23rd, 1934. Read the second time and passed this 4th day of December 1934, by the following vote: Commissioners Arnett, Marble, German and Down and His Honor the Mayor voting aye. Noes none.
