Los Angeles - Deo. 2, 19*9 MEMORANDUM FOR FILE At Mr. Reinhardt’s request I prepared an estimate of cost of construction of a steel pipe water transmission line from Henderson to Las Vegas, as outlined In article In the Las Vegas Review-Journal of November 9 , 19*9 , which quoted from recent report prepared for the Las Vegas Water Dlstrlot by Greeley & Hansen, Chicago Engineering firm. My estimate was prepared on the basis of the various lengths and sizes of line mentioned In the newspaper article. The description of the pipe lines, storage tanks, pumping facilities, etc., and their location, was not clear, and in the circumstances I prepared the best estimate possible, as follows: 4o “ Steel Pipe Line - Henderson to vicinity of Pittman *.5 Mi. |S31,600 42“ “ - Pittman to 6th & Oakey, Las Vegas 10.* Mi. 2,196,*So In Las Vegas: ^ ' 30“ Steel Pipe Line - From 6th & Oakey northerly along Oakey to Stewart St., east to 9th, and west on Stewart to Main St. 2.2 Mi. 12" C.I, Pipe in Main St. from Stewart St. to North Las Vegas 1.2 Ml. Add for valves, fittings, air relief valves, blow off valves,’ expansion joints, anchorages, etc. 500.000 gallon elevated steel storage tank at 6th & Oakey Streets 100.000 gallon elevated steel storage tank “somewhere in Las Vegas" 3.200.000 gallon covered reservoir, Gunite bottom and sides, wooden roof, treated timber; earth out and fill 116,100 50,760 $3 ,19*.9*0 3 0,000 6 6 ,0 0 0 1 5 . 0 0 0 6 5 . 0 0 0 $3,393,9*0 Does not Include cost of: (a) Pumping station at Henderson - not mentioned in newspaper article.
