Schellack, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL, a daily newspaper, of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of two insertions from August 24, 1953 to August 31, 1953 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: August 24, 31, 1953. That said newspaper was regularly issued and circulated on each of the dates above named. s/ A. F. Schellack_________ Subscribed and sworn to before me this 31st day of August, 1953 s/ Neola Gierhart Notary Public in and for Clark My Commission Expires April l4, 1954 County, Nevada ORDINANCE NO. 569 AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE AND CONTROL TRAFFIC BY DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS AND PARTS OF STREET WHEREIN TRAFFIC SHALL MOVE ONLY IN ONE DIRECTION; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1 Upon those streets and parts of streets, and in those alleys, described in this Section, vehicular traffic shall move only in the direction set forth below. Signs indicating the direction of traffic shall be erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited. NAME OF STREET DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC MOVEMENT Ogden Street from Main to 8th Street West Carson Street from Main to 8th Street East SECTION 2. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to determine and designate streets, or specific lanes thereon upon which vehicular traffic shall proceed in one direction during one period and the opposite direction during another period of the day, and may also erect signs temporarily designating lanes to be used by traffic moving in ary particular direction, regardless of the center line of the roadway. The Chief of Police may also designate intersections at which left hand turns shall be prohibited or at which left hand turns shall be permitted only during certain hours of the day, and shall also place and maintain appropriate markings, signs, barriers or other devices to give notice of the foregoing restrictions. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle in violation of such markings, signs, barriers or other devices so placed in accordance with this section. SECTION 3. Any person who rides, drives, or propels a motor vehicle contrary to the provisions of this ordinance, or who removes any of the signs, markings, barriers or other devices provided for in this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and/or six (6) months in the City Jail, or by a combination of both. SECTION 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its reading and adoption in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
