Absent: Mayor Baker. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 304 ENTITLED; "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES"; by ADDING CERTAIN DESCRIBED AREAS TO FIRE ZONES TWO AND TWO SPECIAL (2's) BY PROVIDING FIRE ZONES FOR REZONED AREAS; AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Peccole was read in full to the Board. Thereafter Commissioner Bunker moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 525 Be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING A MINIMUM FINE SCHEDULE FOR VIOLATIONS OF PARKING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING FOR INCREASES IN SCHEDULE FOR FAILING TO PAY SAID FINES WITHIN CERTAIN PRESCRIBED TIMES; PROVIDING FOR IMPOUNDING VEHICLES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioner s Bunker and Whipple for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378 REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949 BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID mAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Whipple. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 462 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING REGISTRATION WITH THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE FINGERPRINTING, THE PRINTING, AND PHOTOGRAPHING OF ALL EMPLOYEES OF GAMBLING HOUSES, TAXI DRIVERS AND EMPLOYEES OF ESTABLISHMENTS WHERE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE SOLD AT RETAIL ON THE PREMISES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 305, ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 27 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," BY FURTHER DEFINING EMPLOYEES COVERED; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO AND REPEALING SUB-PARAGRAPHS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION 2, ORDINANCE NO. 462, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation. Ah ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OR ORDINANCE NO. 378 REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949 BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AND CHANGING TEE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Peccole for recommendation. At this time City Manager C.W. Shelley presented the request of Louis J. Ortner for the City to vacate that portion of Fairfield Place lying westerly of the semi-circle and located at the northerly end of Meadows Addition, Commissioner Bunker moved the public hearing on this matter be held March 25, 1953, at 8:00 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. On motion of Commissioner Peccole, duly seconded by Commissioner Bunker, and carried unanimously, the following resolution is adopted, and order made: #382 BE IT RESOLVED, this 18th day of February, 1953. By the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, that the deed, dated the 17th day of February, 1953. executed by Richard and Sara Lee Stadelman to the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the real property described therein be, and is hereby accepted, for the purposes and intentions as therein set forth; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be attached to said deed, and that the same be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and filed in the records of this Board. Those voting "Aye" Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple. Those voting "Nay" None Absent: Mayor Baker Commissioner Peccole moved the City Manager be instructed to advertise for bids for the sale of City Property on Highway 91 on the same terms and conditions set forth in the resolution of December 22, 1952, that this land be sold for the purpose of providing for parking facilities and/or the construction of a Youth center and that bids be accepted and opened on May 6, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker, Commissioner Peccole moved the public hearing on the assessment roll for assessment district No. 100—18 be recessed until the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held March 18, 1953.
