T he bids w ill be opened at the m eeting of the Board of D irectors to be held A pril 28, 1954, at 10:00 o ’clock A .M ., Pacific D aylight Tim e, at the office o f the D istrict, 135 South Fourth Street, Las V egas, Nevada. Bidders are invited to be present at the openixrg o f the bids or proposals. Each bid or proposal must be firm for a period of time specified therein, not less than 48 hours after the expiration of the time for the receipt of bids and proposals as herein specified, and shall be subject to acceptance within that p eriod ; provided that such acceptance m ay be made after the expiration of said period if the bidder shall not have given the Board notice in w riting o f the withdrawal o f such proposal. Paym ent for and delivery of said bonds shall be made at the office of Jeffries Banknote Com pany, 117 W in ston Street, L os A ngeles, California. For further inform ation respecting the terms and conditions of the bonds, covenants for the protection and security o f the bondholders, and provisions for redem ption, bidders are referred to the cop y o f the resolution o f issuance adopted b y the Board of D irectors on January 8, 1954, \vhich is appended to the proposed Official Statement as A ppendix A . Copies of the proposed Official Statement may be obtained without charge from the office o f the Secretary o f the Las V egas V alley W ater D istrict, at 900 South Fifth Street, Las V egas, Nevada. T he D istrict w ill furnish the successful bidder at the expense of the D istrict 1500 copies o f the Official Statement in final form . A n y additional num ber of copies requested by the successful bidder will be furnished at the expense o f the bidder.
