Water Firm Drills Well On North 5th The Las Vegas Land & Water company finished drilling its new well on North Fifth street yes-terday, producing a small flow of approximately 45 gallons per minute. The well came in at the 300 foot level and was drilled by John Frewalt, old-time well driller of this area. The water produced will be used for domestic and dairy pur-poses at the Las Vegas ranch which according to company of-ficials was devoid of any supply from Las Vegas creek during the past summer. The spring across the roadway at the ranch also dried up, they stated, making it necessary for the ranch manager to secure water from outside sources for protection of the dairy herd. Conforming to the water con-servation program sponsored by the state engineer and local par-ties interested in the future development of Las Vegas val-ley, the well is equipped with control valves so that the flow can be shut off and conserved when not actually required.
