Box 574 Palmdale, California 93550 July 22, 1969 Public Relations Mgr* Sands Motel and Casino Las Vegas, Nevada Dear-Sir: To introduce myself, I am Mrs Schooler, Vice-president and boxing Chairman for the Backers of Boys in Vietnam* The Backers is a group of interested peoole here in Palmdale who wish to stand behind our boys who have had to go to Vietnam to fight for our future. We try to keep up their morale and let them know we are aware of what they are doing by sending each boy from our town a box of goodies, hard-to-get items and mementos from home each month* Currently we are sending to 95 boys* Je receive many reauests from them for playing cards* I am aware that many clubs send cards to the servicemen but apparently there arenTt enough to go around, so I am writing to inquire about your used decks and whether or not we might have a few of them to send in our next box. They would be greatly appreciated* Our financial situation is not the best and the retail cost of cards is just more than we can afford, so I would very much like to hear from you on this matter.
