Dear Friend:- line 5
In reply to your most welcome line 6
letter I will write you a few lines line 7
to*-day. I was very pleased to hear line 8
from you but sorry to hear that you line 9
were working instead of resting. line 10
Am glad, though, that you are line 11
having a little pleasure with it. line 12
I came up here, as I expected to, line 13
Page 2 the day before Christmas. Aggie and line-!
Nettie met me at the depot so I was line 2
soon at their home. I found line 3
them all well and happy and line 4
I assure you they have tried to line 5
make me feel at home a±nd line 6
happy. They have all been very, line 7
very kind and good and I think line 8
a great deal of them all. I think line 9
it is a real nice family; one of line 10
the most aggreeable I have ever line 11
met.
line 12
#1 have had a very pleasant
Page 2 line 13
time since I have been here; have
line 14
had a much better time than I
line 15
thought it possible for me to
line 16
, _ home _
have away from / and the dear
line 17
ones connected with it.
line 18
More than all other times, it
line 19
seems strange to be away from
Page 3 line 1
home now and I havent had
line 2
one letter since I have been here.
line 3
Have been looking for one day
line 4
after day but in vain to-day
line 5
I cannot think of any thing else.
line 6
I was so very pleased to hear
line 7
from you the other day for I
line 8
was almost afraid you would
line 9
not write either while I was here.
line 10.
I thought I knew Aggie in
line 11
Provo but have found that I did
line 12
not. She and ILettie have kept
line 13
me laughing when I havent
line 14
felt a bit like it. I can tell
line 15
you we have had fine times
line 16
and lots of them. They have
line 17
had several socials here at home
line 18
and we girls have been out call-
line 19
ing since and to one ene

social party. I have met quite a number of their friends, and some of their relatives.
We have a merry time Christmas morning over the presents. It just reminded me of home to see them all spying around trying to keep presents out of each others sight. And to my great surprise they kept some out of mine.
This was the first Christmas
I ever failed to hangl my stocking up for Santa Clause and of course I did not expect anything.
However, Aggie gave me a pretty handkerchief case, that she had made, and the other girls gave me some silk hand -kerchiefs to put in it.
The girls have been telling the me about / great times they used used to have with you when they were housecleaning. I just imagine I see you here teasing them. But Lettie, she is a case. She is singing little dities to me quite often and she

I have had the pleasure of

seeing your Mother's photo since
line

I have been here and I think
line
3
she looks very much like Mrs.
line
4
Herrick and some way I believe
line
5
that their ways are much the
line
6
same too.
line
7
I suppose you know that
line
8
Mrs. Herrick of Logan is here.
line
9
She told me, about the first
line
10
thing she said to me, that she
line
11
saw you a few days ago.
line
12
Miss Maeser of Provo is
line

here visiting with Aggie. I believe
line
14
she is intending to leave to-mor-

mow.
line
16
I intend to go back on
line
17
the 4th. but I don't like the
line

thoughts of going to Provo again.
line

It will seem more lonely

than ever for a while; at least
line

until school opens again.
line
3
Just think I can go home,
line
4
or rather, we can go home
line
5
this year.

Mrs. McBride after I go back

so we will not be keeping

house any longer.
line
11
I feel quite sure that you
line
12
believe just what you said
line
13
about my me passing you
line
14
by without knowing you
line
15
when I see you again.
line
16
You know of course that it
line

would be just like/? my style

exactly.

Dear Friend:- It is almost
line
4
time for the mail to go to-day so I
line
5
cannot write much. We girls were
line
6
all out to a social last night at
line
7
the home of one of Aggie's friends.
line
8
We had a delightful time and did
line
9
not get home until nearly two
line
10
o'clock. Some of us, I for one,
line
11
found the dining room at eleven
line

o'clock this morning. Before school
line

closed I promised myself a good

rest during vacation but I had

been up so much
line

I am as tired as ever
line

yet:
line
3
I am sorry
line
4
you did not have
line
5
time to write as
line
6
much as you wished
line
7
to but hope you
line
8
will find time to
line
9
write again soon.
line
10
I must conclude
line
11
now hoping this
line
12
may find you
line
13
well and happy.

Yours sincerely,
