ORDINANCE NO. 607 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND THE EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSING OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF WARM AIR HEATING, OR LABORING AT THE TRADE AS A WARM AIR HEATING INSTALLER; REQUIRING A PERMIT FOR THE INSTALLATION OR ALTERATION OF WARM AIR HEATING APPLIANCES, AND WARM AIR HEATING SYSTEMS; CREATING AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND A BOARD OF WARM AIR HEATING EXAMINERS AND PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS; ESTABLISHING MINIMUM REGULATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION, ALTERATION OR REPAIR OF WARM AIR HEATING APPLIANCES, AND WARM AIR HEATING SYSTEMS AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS; SECTION 1. That a certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City of Las Vegas, with changes therein, being marked and designated as "Las Vegas, Nevada, Warm Air Heating Code, 1954 be and the same is hereby referred to as the Warm Air Heating Code of the City of Las Vegas, and be such reference and adoption made a part of this ordinance the same as if it were fully set forth herein. SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, but it is specifically provided that neither this ordinance nor any repeal hereby provided shall in any way effect the prosecution for the violation of any ordinances heretofore passed or pending at the time of the adoption of this ordinance. SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect one week from adoption pursuant to the Charter of the City of Las Vegas, Chapter 2, Section 30.
