Frank Gusewelle, chairman of i the commissioners, said that the, decision as to the procedure fo ri the election and the date w ould. be decided at a meeting of the!’ body on September 7. I Under the program outlined1, by the petition, presented by James Down, president of t he ; chamber of commerce, and Joel McQuilkin, managing director, j the district would be so organ­ized as to handle all of the water-consumed in the area, t a k i n g over the holdings of the Las V e­gas Land and Water company and coordinating all Services.. District Attorney Robert E. Jones, in outlining the tentative election plans, said that there would be seven election divis­ions, each composing an election district and that , a board of seven would grow out. of these. “The plan for the water dis­trict have been too long delayed, and we are going to move fast from here on out,” Gusewell said, after the meeting. “If we are going to plan sen­sibly and adequately supply water for our growing popula­tion, the time to act is now.” Attending the meeting were the other commissioners, M. E. Leavitt and Rodney Colton, as well-as Gusewelle and'Jones.
